About the course
During this three day workshop you will plan for the future, learn from it, and shape it into your preferred vision. You will learn from international futurist Dr Sohail Inayatullah, analysing past and future trends to identify new opportunities and anticipate and manage change across your organisation.
This workshop is hands-on. In Futures Thinking and Strategy Development each participant will select relevant questions to them, for example, the future of their organization, the future of Bangkok, the future of transportation, the future of technological innovation, the future of child poverty, and use the futures methods and tools and develop scenarios, visions, and strategies around the issue. The trainers will guide participants step by step through this action learning process.

What do participants say about the course?
“Any doubts I had going into the workshop as to how I might use foresight approaches in my own work quickly evaporated; I had used them twice with specific clients before I even left Bangkok! I will certainly keep trying to use these thought muscles, which prior to the workshop I did not even know I had (or needed).”
– Dr. Tim France, Managing Director, Inis Communication, Thailand
“Dr. Sohail Inayatullah is a true expert in the field of strategic foresight studies who combines academic expertise with a wealth of practical experiences of running futures foresight workshops with organisations around the world. Highly recommended!”
– Dr. Detlef Reis, Founder and Chief Ideator, Thinkergy and Adjunct Associate Professor, Hong Kong Baptist University
“The course ‘Futures Thinking and Strategy Development’ has offered me a glimpse into what one can achieve once he or she shift the perspective or as Dr. Sohail would say the metaphor. It was extremely interesting and definitely will not be my last experience in learning more about future thinking and strategy development.”
– Ms. Ottilie Mooshofer, Principal Adviser Biodiversity and Adaption to Climate Change, GIZ
“The course ‘Futures Thinking and Strategy Development’ has offered deep insights into analytical thinking and persuasive communication. I am indeed thankful to have had the opportunity to become part of the futurist family.”
– Dr. Matthias Bickel, Project Director “ASEAN Sustainable Agrifood Systems”, GIZ
