About the course
During this three day workshop you will plan for the future, learn from it, and shape it into your preferred vision. You will learn from international futurist Dr Sohail Inayatullah, analysing past and future trends to identify new opportunities and anticipate and manage change across your organisation.
This workshop is hands-on. In Futures Thinking and Strategy Development each participant will select relevant questions to them, for example, the future of their organization, the future of Bangkok, the future of transportation, the future of technological innovation, the future of child poverty, and use the futures methods and tools and develop scenarios, visions, and strategies around the issue. The trainers will guide participants step by step through this action learning process.

About the Trainer
Futurist speaker Professor Sohail Inayatullah is a political scientist and futurist at the Graduate Institute of Futures Studies, Tamkang University, Taiwan. He is also an associate with Mt Eliza Executive Education, Melbourne Business School, where he co-teaches an annual course titled “Futures Thinking and Strategy Development.”
He is one of the 2010 Laurel award winners for all time best futurists as voted by the Shaping Tomorrow foresight network, an association of 2,900 foresight professionals. He received his doctorate from the University of Hawaii in 1990. In March 2011, he received an honorary doctorate from the Universiti Sains Malaysia, Penang.
Professor Inayatullah has authored and edited thirty books (including such titles as Questioning the Future; The University in Transformation; Youth Futures; Macrohistory and Macrohistorians; and Alternative Educational Futures), journal special issues and CDs, and over 350 journal articles and book chapters and has contributed to the Oxford Encyclopedia of Peace, the Routledge Encyclopedia of Philosophy, The Macmillan Encyclopedia of the Future, and the Unesco Encyclopedia of Life Support Systems.
